Start your day right – breakfast hot spots in FrankfurtRheinMain

Breakfast remains the most important meal of the day and can be much more than making your own coffee and cutting your own bread. Whether you are looking for vegetarian, vegan, classic, sweet or savoury: FrankfurtRheinMain will offer you the most delicious ways to start the morning! Let us introduce you to the most desirable breakfast locations with the tastiest range and a feel-good atmosphere in the Frankfurt region where you can fill your stomach with delicacies at almost any time of the day.

3klang, Darmstadt

Honest love for good taste and regional solidarity – this is what you find at 3klang, right in the heart of Darmstadt’s Martinsviertel. The restaurant’s cosy ambience invites to sit down, enjoy and start the day with a cup of coffee. Next to various barista creations, guests can choose between different breakfast combinations – from a classic one with homemade bread and marmalade to seasonal compositions – there is something for every taste. On Sundays, there is even a rich buffet with cold and warm dishes that is complemented by homemade creations from sweet to savoury. In order to ensure you a place, we recommend early reservation, because the rush is always very large.

Wessinger, Neu-Isenburg

On Sundays and public holidays brunch at Werner’s (the restaurant of the Wessinger hotel) leaves nothing to be desired. Enjoy to your heart’s content with fresh baked goods, a diverse selection of homemade jams, fruit, various muesli and egg dishes, cheese and sausage boards, hot and grilled plates, pancakes, fresh waffles, homemade desserts and so much more. Additionally, if there is still space for something sweet, then it is definitely worth taking a look at the selection of the in-house confectionery as it is truly a veritable dorado of layered dough bases, cream fillings and playful toppings made from cookies or chocolate-coated fruits. Without any doubt your decision won’t be easy, but if you need a little help – we think the Barcelona cake is always worth a sin ;).

Cafe Maingold, Frankfurt

The description „four-room kitchen bar“ sums up the Maingold concept perfectly: every room is lovely furnished and the bar presents itself right in the middle. The living room atmosphere with old-fashioned sofas, kidney tables and flower wallpaper feels like being in an old coffee house and invites you to relax, chat, read or simply enjoy. During the day, you can enjoy various coffee and tea specialities, as well as cakes and other delicious desserts. On Sundays and public holidays we recommend visiting the café a little earlier, because tasty breakfast is waiting for you. Self-shredded muesli, homemade cream cheese dip, organic scrambled eggs with herbs, mushrooms and bacon, various types of cheese, fruit salad and more can be put together individually according to your taste. Moreover, if you can’t get enough of Maingold, it is the perfect place to end your evening relaxed with a glass of wine and if you wish a selection of small dishes, especially since the location has a great little garden with blankets for chilly temperatures.

Annabatterie, Mainz

For our next tip, we invite you on a small excursion. After a short drive up the Rhine (no matter if on or beside the river) we reach Mainz and that is exactly where we want to go. Our destination is a real insider tip, Annabatterie at Gartenfeldplatz in Mainz Neustadt. Shortly after entering, you will notice the cosy atmosphere with a flea market character, the cake counter where all kinds of cakes and delicacies are waiting to be eaten. Afterwards, the eye quickly finds its way to the menu written above the counter. Apart from the many sweet temptations, there are also hearty snacks and of course very important: breakfast! There is a choice between four options, each is available in a large or small version. Whether classic, bread with cheese and ham, delicious pancakes with vanilla sauce, homemade granola with dates & cranberries or a vegan dish with hummus and stuffed vine leaves, there is something for everyone.

The Hessian nature park Spessart is known as a great getaway destination. However, not only the scenery and the water castle „Jazaha“ are worth a visit! Here you can taste and enjoy lovingly prepared breakfasts, homemade cakes and tarts as well as small delicacies from our Frankfurt region. From the vital breakfast for the health-conscious and the sweet French version, to the hearty shepherd breakfast, everything is included so that the selection can be quite difficult. Foodies you are welcome!

Oma Lisbeth, Gernsheim

Welcome home in another time – cosy, comfortable and open to all, this is Oma Lisbeth in Gernsheim. Located in the south eastern part of the FrankfurtRheinMain region, at the café you can experience stylish vintage atmosphere paired with Grandma’s Hospitality. However, the breakfast offered there is anything but dusty. You can choose between different options according to your taste, all ingredients are from local producers, served on étagères. In addition to a great selection of cakes and tarts, the café is known above all for good coffee and who doesn’t like to drink an espresso with a little bit of dolce vita? By the way: It is better to make a reservation if you are more than one person, because the seats for breakfast are highly sought after.
